José Carreras, one of the world's most iconic opera singers, will arrive to Israel for one memorable show on June 13, 2018 as a part ofthe Mediterranean Festivalin Ashdod.
Mr. Carreras will be accompanied by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mr. David Gimenez. Special guest: Daniela Lugsi
José Carreras is one of the world's most respected opera singers. Carreras's legendary career included performances in some of the world’s most prestigious opera theaters and festivals, including the New York Metropolitan Opera House, San Francisco Opera, London’s Royal Opera House and more.
His repertoire includes over sixty operas including Andrea Chenier, La Bohème, Tosca, Werther, Don Carlo, Carmen, La Forza del Destino and more. In 1990, Carreras has joined forces with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti to ensemble "The Three Tenors". The trio's performance album, released in 1999, is considered the highest selling classical recording of all times with more then 13M copies sold.
Carreras's repertoire includes over 600 titles and his discography includes over 150 recordings which awarded him many Gold and Platinum selling status in many markets around the world. Carreras has collaborated with the most renowned orchestra conductors, among others Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Metha and many more.
